TRIVIA: 'Number Ones' signalled the end to Michael Jackson's album contract with Sony Music, granting him the freedom he had wanted since the furore over the bad handling of the 'Invincible' album in 2001/2002. Michael agreed to Sony's releasing of a definitive collection of his greatest 'number one' hits, and provided the unreleased track 'One More Chance' for inclusion, and also for release as a single. The album was launched with a range of four different covers, displaying an iconic image from the 'Off The Wall', 'Thriller', 'Bad', and Dangerous' eras. 'Number Ones' remains a hugely popular greatest hits album to date. The album was also released in a special card Slipcase for promotional purposes. It included space for the four Special Edition CD releases of Michael's back-catalogue to fit alongside 'Number Ones.'
