TRIVIA: Following an extended delay between his album releases, 'Invincible' finally arrived, marking the return of Michael Jackson to the album and single charts. It revealed yet another development in Michael's musical styles, and appeared to have all the hallmarks of being a hugely successful CD. It's first single release - 'You Rock My World' was a big hit, being held off the number one chart position by Kylie Minogue's surprise smash 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head.' The second single release 'Cry' was overshadowed by controversy within Sony, as accusations were made regarding attempts by Sony Music president Tommy Motolla to sabotage the 'invincible' album. Although Motolla was eventually 'released' from his presidential position at Sony a few months later, the damage had already been done; Invincible had not received any further publicity following it's initial launch, and was suffering the consequences. No more singles had been released since 'Cry', and it was too late to try and salvage the album and bring it back to the public's attention.

The 'Invincible' album remains one of the most underrated Michael Jackson albums to date, and features a plethora of potentially huge hit single releases that never got to see the 'light of day'. It is a multi-million dollar wasted remnant of the turbulent mis-management inside Sony Music during 2001/2002.

The album was released in a variety of Limited Edition coloured covers, including Orange, Red, Green and Blue, as well as the standard Silver artwork.
