TRIVIA: Unreleased sampler disc of 'The Bad Mixes' Promo CD, with a different demonstration tracklisting. It features a front and rear sleeve designated "SAMPLE COPY'. Unlike the Promo CD, the front and rear of the album are white, instead of black. The cover image of Michael through a 'veil' illustrates the originally rejected design for the commercial release of the 'Bad' album (the image eventually used was taken behind-the-scenes during the filming of the single 'Bad').
CD Samplers Explained: Sometimes referred to as 'CD-Acetates' or 'White-Labels', such sample-CDs are most commonly pressed on writable discs. The CDs are not factory-made (like commercial release CDs), as they are produced in very limited quantities directly at the 'mixing-suite', to showcase musical content and sleeve designs. Sample-CDs are frequently mistaken as Promo CDs, which they are not. Such samplers are unreleased, un-catalogued recordings made by outside sources (not by record labels) for demonstration purposes, as is the industry standard.
